Centrify Enters the Japanese Market

I am very pleased to announce today that Centrify has entered the Japanese market for Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) in conjunction with ITOCHU TECHNO-Solutions Corporation, one of Japan’s most trusted sources for IT infrastructure. We now offer a fully localized product for the Japanese market, a localized web site, Centrify employees on the ground in Japan as part of our new Tokyo office, a great partner in ITOCHU to work with, and our first set of Japanese customers. Read the press release here. In this blog I want to talk about why we are excited about the Japanese market. Japan is a country…

IT Convenience. What a Concept. A Day in the (Mobile) Life.

9.25pm…Sunday…Santa Clara, U.S… Exhausted. Been working looooong hours all weekend in the corporate NOC, tag-teaming with Frank and his team in our Bracknell, U.K. facility. Finally on the road home. Just enough time to hit my favorite coffee shop, sink into a sumptuous leather sofa, and unwind for half an hour with a luxuriant flat white and an almond croissant. Then my mobile phone rings. Argh! I could ignore it, but have assigned a special ring tone for emergency calls. This was the bat signal. The panic call that meant disaster had struck. I pulled over and answered it. It was…

Office 365, Perficient and Centrify: Millions of Users Can’t Be Wrong

“…We’ve moved 2.2 million users to the cloud with Office 365.” I’ve done a lot of webcasts, and had a lot of co-presenters, but I don’t think I can remember one that started with a line that was quite as perfect as that one. That was Joe at Perficient talking.  And with that simple sentence, he had everyone’s complete attention.  He did a great job of speaking for those 2.2 million folks, too.  He spent the first part of our discussion laying out the challenges that he’s seen many customers face as they stare down the barrel of migration from…

Do you have to secure your company’s Hadoop cluster as it moves to production? Concerned about setting up and managing an MIT Kerberos implementation? We’ve been working with over 40 enterprises across six major verticals over the last few years to address their Big Data IAM challenges. This blog post describes some of the key challenges they’ve faced, and how we at Centrify have helped address them.  Active Directory Integration Often, Hadoop projects within an enterprise are piloted by business units and then moved to production once the use case is validated. And, one of the first decisions business units and…

Centrify is the “Clear Choice” Winner of the NetworkWorld Single Sign-on Vendor Shootout

Centrify, the leader in unifying identity management across cloud, mobile and data center, is excited and honored to be named the NetworkWorld Clear Choice winner for Single Sign-on products that improve end-user productivity and secure access to cloud, mobile, and on-premises apps via single sign-on, user provisioning and multi-factor authentication. In addition to Centrify, the review evaluated seven other vendors including Okta and Microsoft, so it was a very comprehensive look at the market. This is a great accomplishment because in 2012, the last time the review was done by Network World, Centrify was in the process of enhancing our cloud solution…

Identity is the New Perimeter

Security is clearly top of mind these days in the enterprise, and over the last few years we have seen both a lot of excitement and a lot of purchasing of “next generation firewalls” (NGFs) and solutions that address “advanced persistent threats” (APTs). So in years past, the mindshare and walletshare in security was with vendors such as Symantec, McAfee, Check Point, etc. But today in security, the mindshare and the most rapidly growing security vendors are the new kids on the block — Palo Alto Networks and FireEye — who are riding the NGF and APT trains respectively. Which is…

IDaaS Continues as a Hot Market for 2015

This past year was a tremendous year for the Identity and Access Management as a Service (IDaaS) market and for Centrify in particular. Centrify has a history of innovating in the IDaaS space, e.g. we delivered the first integrated identity and mobility management solution delivered entirely in the cloud; the first IDaaS company to surpass 2,000 customers, etc.  This year we showed further innovation by releasing compelling features such as the App Gateway for accessing on-prem apps without a VPN as well as user lifecycle management and provisioning for Office 365 and dozens of other apps.  The IDaaS market continues…

Accelerating Office 365 Deployment and Consumption

You’re an Office 365 systems integrator partner and just witnessed a customer purchase an enterprise volume license for Office 365. Congratulations!  Your customer is now ready to onboard users from their directory into O365 and enable anywhere secure BYOD access to O365 — and you think this will be as simple as ABC. It should be…but let’s face it — the part of onboarding that involves service provisioning and identity integration is seen as THE biggest challenge to adopt O365. We have heard this first hand from many O365 partners. No wonder the deployment of O365 licenses still stands below…

Simplify and Centrify Your Office 365

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says: “The core products of this company are Windows, Office 365, and Azure. From a business model, those are the three big things we are very focused on. We ask how our effort is accruing to those things.” Small, medium and large businesses have all started either migrating or are considering moving to Office 365, this is due to Microsoft investing heavily in Office 365 and also showing the benefits of migration from traditional on-premises Exchange and Sharepoint to cloud-based Office 365. At Centrify, we are immediately seeing the benefits of this, as the majority of our discussions with…
