I hope everyone is enjoying a happy and prosperous holiday season. It’s been another very good year at Centrify. We’re growing, we’re the only vendor in the world to hold three simultaneous leadership positions in PIM and IDaaS, and we’re focused (as always) on the thing that makes our company great — our customers. We’re finishing up the last round of updates for Centrify software and services in the calendar year of 2017. This week, I’m happy to announce the general availability of Centrify Infrastructure Services (CIS) 2017.3. CIS is the product formerly known as Centrify Server Suite. The 2017.3…

I’m very pleased to announce that we’ve added a brand-new deployment option to Centrify Privilege Service, our enterprise-grade privileged identity management (PIM) solution for remote access, shared account password management, multi-factor authentication (MFA) and privileged session monitoring. Privilege Service is now the only product of its type available today that natively supports all three deployment models that enterprise customers need: on-premises, private cloud and public cloud. Centrify Announces Centrify Server Suite 2016.1

By , May 26, 2016

I’m happy to announce the general availability of Centrify Server Suite 2016.1. Server Suite is our flagship product for enterprise-ready privileged identity management (PIM). It’s a big part of our overall PIM solution, along with Centrify Privilege Service. Every year, we aim to deliver one major feature release of Server Suite, usually towards the end of the calendar year, and a minor release in the late spring or early summer that rolls up all the maintenance work we’ve done and introduces a few minor feature updates. In this year’s maintenance release, however, we’ve added what I think are some really…

Privileged Access Request Connects Privilege Service to ServiceNow

By , February 2, 2016

We’re releasing our first Centrify Privilege Service app for ServiceNow. It’s a clean, simple integration that allows authorized IT admins to ask for access to password checkouts and remote sessions managed by Privilege Service, all from within the familiar ServiceNow user interface. All you need to make this work for your organization is (a) Centrify Privilege Service and (b) your ServiceNow ITSM portal.  Our new Privileged Access Request app for ServiceNow is free, so there’s no need for additional budget to connect these two services and start taking advantage of the app’s functionality. Here’s how it works. Configure your Privilege Service and…

Watch Admin Activity in Real-Time with Centrify Privilege Service

By , August 10, 2015

Ever needed a second pair of eyes on a change to a critical server — as it’s happening? Ever needed to see exactly what’s happening with maintenance activity — with the ability to kill the session if you don’t like what you’re seeing? If so, then the new “Watch & Terminate” feature in Privilege Service 15.7 is for you.  This feature allows administrative users to watch other users’ remote sessions in real-time with full fidelity, and terminate (kill) the other user’s session if necessary.  This enables a new level of oversight for user activity on critical resources.  New permissions have been added…

By , November 24, 2014

Questions we’re asked by new Centrify Server Suite for Windows (CSS) customers often center on the “how” of implementing granular Windows privilege management. How do we deploy it? What are some of the best practices you’ve found? How can we get some broad controls in place now, without waiting to boil the ocean of every last detailed right for each of our hundreds of admins? The use case:…

Invasion through Identity

By , October 27, 2014

In July, JP Morgan Chase discovered that 90 or so of its servers were breached by external hackers. As The New York Times reported, “By the time the bank’s security team discovered the breach in late July, hackers had already obtained the highest level of administrative privilege to dozens of the bank’s computer servers.” According to the article, it is still unclear how hackers managed to gain such deep access. Every organization in the world with significant financial assets is under constant Web-based attack from bad guys. Over the past two years, there’s been an impressive (or terrifying, depending on…

The Centrify Server Suite 2014.1 update is available now on the Centrify Customer Download Center! Engineering has been working hard on this release for several months, and we’re pleased to post its availability today. They’ve put in a lot of tweaks and improvements based on customer feedback, and I know some of you will find these to be very welcome enhancements. We added support for new clients, too, including RHEL 7, OLE 7, and Windows Server Core. That last one is something I think it going to be increasingly important for those with Windows Server deployments. Here’s a bit on some of the…
