Centrify Announces Global Channel Partner Award Winners

It’s industry standard for vendors to hand out annual awards, and Centrify is no different. The Centrify Channel Partner Network (CCPN) was launched in January of 2014 and is focused heavily on core strategic partners. Last year, we were able to launch our own CCPN awards program to honor partners that have embraced our efforts and program. Now that we are in our second year of awarding partners, there are some very obvious metrics that we have seen that drive success selling and managing Centrify’s products. There is a very high percentage of our partner community that have met the…

Picking a Perfect Bracket is Hard, SaaS Implementation is Easy

Being in tech and a self-proclaimed sports junkie, I couldn’t resist writing my blog about my favorite sporting event — March Madness. If you’re like me, you watched the selection show this past weekend and started thinking about your bracket. You said to yourself, I know the perfect bracket is impossible — but one day I’m going to get it right. Depending on who you listen to the odds range from a high of 1 in 128 billion to a low of 1 in 9.2 quintillion (yes, that’s a real number — 9 followed by 18 digits).  So, I wasn’t too…

Cloud Security Alliance Welcomes Newest Member

It’s been quite a busy year in the cloud computing world. It seems that every week, a relatively young cloud-focused company scores a funding round with a valuation above $1B (unicorns!), and every week we see a traditional enterprise-focused software vendor introduce a new cloud-based service. Each firm will provide different numbers, but the consensus is that spend on cloud computing services is growing significantly, and when compared to the rest of Enterprise IT spend, spend on cloud services is growing at a much faster clip. Diving a bit deeper, the mix of services is changing dramatically. Earlier this year,…

Google Apps: It Scares You, But it Shouldn’t

Its Monday morning 7am, you are sitting at the breakfast table with your beautiful wife and two children. Life couldn’t get any better than this. Your mortgage interest rate is at 3.5%, you have the college funds for the kids in the bank and both cars are paid off. You think to yourself “I am the luckiest guy in the world”…But all of a sudden you remember that your boss told you he wants to use Google Apps. Your hand starts to shake like you just had a triple espresso on an empty stomach and your stomach kinda feels the…

Centrify Enters the Japanese Market

I am very pleased to announce today that Centrify has entered the Japanese market for Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) in conjunction with ITOCHU TECHNO-Solutions Corporation, one of Japan’s most trusted sources for IT infrastructure. We now offer a fully localized product for the Japanese market, a localized web site, Centrify employees on the ground in Japan as part of our new Tokyo office, a great partner in ITOCHU to work with, and our first set of Japanese customers. Read the press release here. In this blog I want to talk about why we are excited about the Japanese market. Japan is a country…

IT Convenience. What a Concept. A Day in the (Mobile) Life.

9.25pm…Sunday…Santa Clara, U.S… Exhausted. Been working looooong hours all weekend in the corporate NOC, tag-teaming with Frank and his team in our Bracknell, U.K. facility. Finally on the road home. Just enough time to hit my favorite coffee shop, sink into a sumptuous leather sofa, and unwind for half an hour with a luxuriant flat white and an almond croissant. Then my mobile phone rings. Argh! I could ignore it, but have assigned a special ring tone for emergency calls. This was the bat signal. The panic call that meant disaster had struck. I pulled over and answered it. It was…

Centrify Helps Companies Comply with Labor Laws

Recently I was talking with a co-worker and he shared a use case from a large insurance company in Brazil. They wanted to ensure that they are in compliance with Brazilian labor laws as it pertains to the number of hours worked by employees in Brazil. The Federal Constitution states that working hours in Brazil should not exceed 44 hours a week and preferably, no more than 8 hours a day. Based on this scenario, the employee would have to work an additional 4 hours on Saturday. Or, as a workaround that many companies have implemented, have employees work an…

RMM Meets IDaaS: Why MSPs are the New VARs

Last week Centrify announced that AVG Technologies selected Centrify’s integrated cloud-based identity management (IDaaS) and enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution for the AVG CloudCare service. The partnership marks a significant opportunity for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) that are increasingly looking to adopt cloud and mobile apps for business purposes, but don’t have the time or resources available to manage the IT challenges and complexity this transition entails. This is also a huge opportunity for managed service providers (MSPs) who are implementing and managing IT services on SMBs’ behalf, while also playing a consultative role with respect to IT opportunities…

Continued Centrify Momentum

Besides blogging about my take on our new product releases, interesting partnerships, and discussing trends in the security market, every six months or so I like to use this blog as a forum to give a business update to our customers and partners on Centrify itself. We find that many of our customers and partners are vested in us as a key technology provider and like to hear how we are doing. My last Centrify business update was just a few months ago, where I discussed our record Fiscal Year results (our FY ends in June).

Alternatives to DirSync for Office 365 Provisioning, Part 2

In my last blog I talked about how Centrify User Suite provides a superior alternative to Microsoft’s DirSync for Office 365 provisioning. I discussed how DirSync requires additional hardware and software, is complex and difficult to set up, and does not handle license management. In this blog post I will give some additional reasons why Centrify is the best choice for Office 365 identity including support for multiple forests, differing internal and external domains and other flexibility and options for syncing AD changes.
